Testimonials
We have had the privilege of working with Goodchild Marine in the past and we were very impressed with the quality of workmanship and attention to detail delivered to our existing vessels by the team.
We very much hope in the future to find a way for the company to build us boats rather than just repair them.
Goodchild Marine has built new vessels for Commercial Rib Charter in addition to carrying out vessel re-fits. The key factor to running a commercial boat business is reliability of the vessels. Goodchild’s experience, expertise and attention to detail ensures that our vessels are built to a standard that gives excellent reliability in every way. Working with Goodchild Marine has been a pleasure, being able to tap into their vast amount of knowledge through build stages has proved extremely useful.
I moored my first boat at Goodchild Marine in1996 and subsequent boats since.
The service has been exemplary, and responsive to my needs. Any work undertaken was completed to a first-class standard and on time. The staff are exceptional and everything is done with a smile, which is most important.
The marina is kept to a high standard with safety a prime motivator. The personal touches are appreciated and included Alan spending time teaching me the rudiments of safe mooring each time I changed up to a larger boat (probably to save both my boat and the marina!). Alan, Sue, Steve, Lisa and all the staff are a credit to the business.
Estuary Services Limited (ESL) provides the critical service of pilot boarding and landing to the Ports of London and Medway.
Over the past 30 years, the company has forged a strong working relationship with Goodchild Marine, both for the supply of new boats and refitting of existing vessels. In order to help it meet the challenges of the business, the Orc design was selected for our latest 17m pilot boats, ‘Estuary Elan’ and ‘Estuary Elite’, both of which were built at Great Yarmouth.
In addition, ESL recently placed an order for a third Orc boat, which is currently in build, due for delivery in 2018, and accepted the tender submitted by Goodchild for ‘Estuary Elan’ to be refitted later this year.
The customer support, personal service and quality of workmanship provided by Goodchild Marine has been a factor in ESL maintaining an efficient service to shipping in the southern Thames Estuary.
In 2013 officers and members of the Northumberland Inshore Fisheries & Conservation Authority decided to replace their existing 21m steel, mono hulled patrol vessel.
Early in the project it was decided that the authority would be looking at a glass reinforced plastic (GRP) Catamaran, between 14m-16m in length, with a beam of no more than 6m, an A frame and rigid inflatable boat (RIB) situated at the aft of the vessel.
After a long and thorough procurement process Goodchild Marine were chosen to carry out the work
At the initial talks Goodchild Marine kept in contact with the NIFCA chief officers updating them of any issues and dealt with any alterations, as well as giving sound advice.
The project and build started early 2014 and was completed on schedule and within budget to the required specification and NIFCA took delivery in May 2015 after extensive trials,
Alan Goodchild personally delivered the vessel to the Royal Quays Marina, North Shields, River Tyne.
The NIFCA received a 16m GRP Catamaran, which met all our expectations, excellent sea capabilities, excellent speed and fuel efficiency.
